Aussie pop-punk band 5 Seconds Of Summer have reached an incredible 8 million followers on social media site Twitter and shared a heartfelt post with their fans to celebrate the achievement. 

The 'She's Kinda Hot' heartthrobs told their fans that they're grateful for the constant encouragement, support and love: "8 million of you are listening and are apart of the heart of 5SOS, on Twitter... To infinity and beyond, we adore you all xx"

Luke Hemmings's mother, Liz, recently spoke to the Huffington Post about the band's fans and admitted it's nice to see them being so protective over them: 

"I would do that when I was looking after them too on tour, if they'd gone out on a particular night and I wanted to know if they'd come home to the hotel - it would be on Twitter - it's kind of like they've got lots of little mums out there checking up on them."
