The sixth and final episode of Unbreakable saw Loose Women star, Denise Welch, and her acclaimed artist husband, Lincoln Townley, crowned winners.

Hosted by Comedian Rob Beckett, the competition put six celebrity couples through a series of mental, physical and emotional challenges designed to reveal something new about their relationships. One by one the couples were eliminated, before Denise and Lincoln took the top spot.

Having valiantly faced electric shocks and a gruelling walk over broken glass, the pair were crowned champions, beating fellow finalists Shirley Ballas and Danny Taylor, and Stephen Bailey and Rich Taylor.

Throughout the series, Denise and Lincoln spoke openly about their journey from addiction to sobriety. The pair first locked eyes in a nightclub in 2011, marrying two years later in 2013. After meeting at a difficult time in their lives, the duo are now proudly sober and happily married a decade on.

Moments after the winners were announced, Denise said: "I am overjoyed, I can’t tell you. We had no doubt that we were unbreakable, but I’m just really glad to share that story with other people. It’s never too late to turn your life around. I love Lincoln and this is just the icing on the cake - and to have such a lovely reaction from people that you have grown very close to, it is very very very special."

The couples were judged by relationship experts Anjula Mutanda and Maria McErlane. Speaking in the series finale, Maria revealed, ‘We voted for Denise and Lincoln. Their relationship started from such a difficult beginning and they have risen like a phoenix from the flames. They are such a strong couple’.

The whole cast returned for the final episode, donning their finest black tie as the results were announced to fireworks.
