Robin, 28 is a Child Rights Officer for his local council. Born in Crewe, he spent his childhood in Rome, Italy before becoming coming back to the UK for university. He now lives in Cardiff with his girlfriend.

How would you describe your style of cooking?

My girlfriend is a conservation horticulturist and we are both massively inspired by our garden. I really enjoy growing produce then taking what we’ve grown and turning it into simple, comforting dishes using locally sourced Welsh produce.

What is your earliest cooking memory?

Probably Eggy Bread as a kid, then growing up in Italy food was a big part of life. I’ve only really learnt how to cook well though since being with my girlfriend. She has great taste in food and our relationship has been a culinary journey. I love being able to create delicious dishes for her!

Why did you enter MasterChef?

To take myself out of my comfort zone and push myself to become a better chef.

What is your food dream?

I would love to open a potager garden cafe with my partner. A community café and creative space where people can come together to learn, have fun, and connect with nature.
