Bastille on New Music: “Our influences didn't really come across on ‘Bad Blood’”

'These Streets' hitmakers Bastille have revealed that they can't wait to get stuck into recording their next full-length offering because they want to incorporate their individual influences and musical tastes in a way they haven't yet done.

During a new interview with GigWise, the band's frontman Dan Smith explained that they don't want to be pigeon-holed where their sound is concerned so they're excited to work on their next album as it will more more explorative:

"We never really wanted to be one thing or make one kind of music - we've always messed around with stuff. The influences we have and I have are very, very diverse and maybe quite mish-mash, and I think how it came out (the first album) didn't really represent those types of music."

"Influences for me were much more picky, there was stuff like a drum sound or a hip hop track that I liked - but you don't necessarily hear anything hip hop."
