Cheryl Cole reveals Queen crush

Girls Aloud's Cheryl Cole has described Queen Elizabeth II's "candy floss" hair after performing for the British monarch at the 100th anniversary of the Royal Variety Show last night.

The newly-reformed girl group - comprising Cole, Kimberley Walsh, Nicola Roberts, Nadine Coyle and Sarah Harding - made sure they looked their glamorous selves in matching shimmering black floor-length fishtail gowns with opulent gold embellishment as they took to the stage.

Performing their new track 'Beautiful 'Cause You Love Me', the girls wowed wearing the strapless frocks while dancing in unison.

Cole took to Twitter after the performance on Monday (November 19) to gush about the British monarch.

She wrote: "The Queen is so delicate. She has hair like candy floss and tiny little dancing style shoes .. Awww #theroyalvariety2012.

The beauty added: "Another highlight of my night was @aliciakeys such an incredibly talented and down to earth woman (sic)."

Roberts, Walsh and Coyle also kept their fans up-to-date about the honourary experience.

While Roberts wrote: "I'm so excited I've just met the Queen. I've always wanted too meet her. She was sparkling from head to toe #royalvariety2012" Walsh added: "Cannot believe I just met the Queen! What an amazing night! #royalvariety2012"

Irish singer Coyle was also proud to be in attendance at the coveted show: "I met the Queen of England tonight & the Duke. The royal Albert hall was jumping with faces. A celeb spotters dream! Xxx hahaah great day! (sic)."
