Adam Anderson of electro-pop duo Hurts has revealed that during a performance in Kiev, Ukraine, he surprised himself by falling asleep on the job.

He told BBC's Newsbeat that he dozed off while in the middle of the song 'Unspoken', which he describes as "very emotional", and was woken up by Theo Hutchcraft who slammed his hand down on the piano:

"I had a moment in Kiev. We've got this song called 'Unspoken' - it'll disappoint some of our fans, it's a very emotional song but at that moment, I got tired... I think (Hutchcraft) woke me up by slapping (his) hand on the piano."

Hutchcraft added: "There's a break in the middle where Adam doesn't play. It's just strings, but it must have been that bit."

Meanwhile, Hurts recently spoke out in defense of boyband One Direction after they came under fire from several artists and bands who attended the 2013 BRIT Awards, and said "they should be left alone really. It's good for the equilibrium of pop to have boybands."
