Heg & The Wolf Chorus Spin A Tale Of SailorsBeautiful New Narrative Concept EP From Rising Stars Of FolkFrom its deep, haunting double-bass intro, throughout its woven harmony and orchestration, the new EP ‘A Tale Of Sailors’ by Heg & The Wolf Chorus is a gorgeous tale of the sea. Part modern folk conceptualisation, part homage to ages old shanty tradition, the record transports you on deck, and off towards the horizon on an exciting and glorious voyage.
Heg & The Wolf Chorus love to tell a story. The record follows in the footsteps of ‘Giant’, their previous single, based on folk-tales taken from British tradition. With this new offering the band show the world of folk that they are one of the best narrators around, and able to entice and entertain the listener as story-tellers of old.
‘A Tale Of Sailors’ is released on Monday 24th November, with the band setting sail themselves across the UK on tour this winter. Shows include support spots for their folk peers Moulettes, as well as the ever amazing Crazy World of Arthur Brown, both of whom were excited to welcome Heg & The Wolf Chorus back after the band supported both artists on tour back in May.
Hailing from Bristol, via Dartington College of Arts and a hippy-commune existence, the band have previously supported BBC Sound of 2013 winners HAIM, performed live at Bristol’s Colston Hall for a BBC documentary on home recording, and were selected for Glastonbury Festival's Emerging Talent long-list by Helen True from For Folks Sake. The BBC are firm supporters of this exciting group, with regular interviews and airplay via BBC Introducing.
