Jake Bugg to host songwriting masterclass

Musician Jake Bugg will host two songwriting workshops at London's Royal Albert Hall in a couple of weeks and both events will be attended by students aged between 16 and 18.

The workshops are confirmed to take place later this month, on February 17 and February 21, and during the classes he will teach attendees to play his song 'Broken'. One student from the final seminar will then be given the chance to perform it at the venue with Bugg later that night.

Speaking about the exciting news earlier, Bugg explained: "I am truly honoured to be hosting these workshops at the Royal Albert Hall. We need initiatives like this to inspire young musicians."

"This will be my first time performing at the Royal Albert Hall too. It's such an iconic venue and so many of my idols that inspired me have performed there. I can't believe I am following in their footsteps."

Bugg recently told Q magazine that he suffers from a recurring nightmare: "I have a recurring nightmare. I'm on the deserted streets of Nottingham at night being pursued by a gang of zombies. It's unbelievably scary that dream. I'm always in this dilemma about whether I should kill myself or not before they catch me or not. I couldn't face being caught by zombies - I'm genuinely concerned by it."
