Katy B on new album: 'It's different but the dance influence is still there'

'On A Mission' songstress Katy B has updated her fans on the continuing progress of her forthcoming new album and admitted that it's coming along well although she has incorporated unexpected elements into her new sound.

Speaking to Britain's Daily Star newspaper, she explained that she's making a conscious effort to maintain her dance influence but has definitely branched out sonically with this offering:

"I've been in the Cotswolds finishing off a few demos for my next album. The record is really coming together and it's been lovely to get away."

"I've been trying to work on my structures and use more live instruments, like piano. To create different textures there are backing vocals which sound like a choir. But there's still a dance influence."

Back in August, Katy B described the new cut as showcasing her 'transition into womanhood': "I'm making the transition from being a girl into womanhood and finding out what my responsibilities are. It's the first time I've lived in the real world with bills to pay, and that's coming across in what I'm writing."
