They will join some of the world’s leading songwriters such as Bernie Taupin, Tom Odell, Gabriels, Celeste, KAMILLE and many more, raising money for music charities at the London Palladium on Monday 20 May.

The Other Songs celebrates the world’s most distinguished performers, delving into the origin of legendary songs. This year will include a performance from Max Richter and a very special live version of the White Lotus theme from Cristobal Tapia de Veer, as well as on-stage interviews offering the audience an intimate perspective into their songwriting process.

Often described as one of the most influential composers of his generation, Max Richter stands as a pivotal figure on the contemporary music scene. With streaming figures measured in the billions, Richter’s works cross boundaries and genres; encompassing solo artist albums, ballets, concert hall performances, cinema and television scores, video art installations and theatre works. His work has been nominated twice for a GRAMMY Award, as well as a Primetime Emmy Award.

Multiple award-winning Cristobal Tapia de Veer is a classically trained musician, producer, arranger and multi-instrumentalist. Renowned for his distinctive and experimental composition style, he has received a wealth of prestigious accolades throughout his career, including three Primetime Emmy Awards for his work on White Lotus, as well as a BAFTA for his work on Channel 4’s National Treasure.

Completing the line-up are Shelly Peiken, the American songwriter known for writing no. 1 hits such as “What A Girl Wants” by Christina Aguilera and the top 10 hit “Bitch” by Meredith Brooks which she will perform on the night, as well as London vocalist, composer and band-leader Hohnen Ford, rising star Romaya, and a special session from London Grammar’s Dot Major performing the music of Nick Lloyd Webber in his memory.

They join a huge line-up of previously announced performers including Elton John’s famed songwriting partner Bernie Taupin; neo-soul titans Gabriels; BRIT Award winning Tom Odell; and UK vocalist Celeste. GRAMMY recipient KAMILLE will also appear, as well as long-time Donna Summer collaborator Pete Bellotte; platinum selling songwriter Jin-Jin; German producer Tony Gad; and UK singer-songwriter Dyo. Other performers include chart-topping Irish singer-songwriter Cian Ducrot, New York sibling band Infinity Song and rising star Sam Wilkinson.

This year the event will be raising money for three brilliant music charities: The BRIT School, The Ivors Academy Trust, and Nordoff & Robbins, aiming to build on the £65,000 raised in 2023.

About The Other Songs

The Other Songs is a London-based independent entertainment company co-founded in 2018 by brothers Alastair and Billy Webber (formerly of Island Records and Warner Records). Boasting a diverse range of artists, songwriters, producers, and animators, The Other Songs’ roster has garnered over two billion streams, including hits from SUPER-Hi, Endor, Raffa FL and the chart-topping album “Sick Boi” by Ren.

Another Rhythm, a subsidiary of The Other Songs, operates as an independent record label dedicated to emerging talent in the electronic music sphere. Expanding its horizons The Other Songs ventured into animation via “Good Morning Kevin”, an original animated series made for social media in collaboration with ex-Pixar animation director, Andrew Gordon. Since 2018 it has also hosted live events for songwriters, with a sold-out event at the London Palladium in partnership with the Ivors Academy raising over £65,000 for the BRIT School and Ivors Academy Trust last year.

About The Ivors Academy

The Ivors Academy is the UK’s independent professional association for music creators. We represent and champion a diverse, talented community of songwriters and composers. We are a self-funded not-for-profit organisation, relying on the continued support of our members and partners to carry on our work. The Academy is known internationally for The Ivors with Amazon Music and The Ivors Classical Awards.

The Ivors with Amazon Music is one of the most loved and respected moments in music and takes place on 23 May 2024. Presented to songwriters and composers for their creative achievements since 1956, each winner receives a hand-crafted Ivor Novello Award and joins a roll call of greats that includes RAYE, Adele, Stormzy, Cathy Dennis, Sting, Annie Lennox, Amy Winehouse, Dave, Paul McCartney, John Lennon and Joan Armatrading. Ivor Novello Awards are judged by acclaimed songwriters and composers from The Ivors Academy. This peer recognition makes the awards so special and respected.

About The Ivors Academy Trust

About Nordoff and Robbins

Nordoff and Robbins is the UK’s largest music therapy charity, with a unique approach shaped by more than 60 years of practice.

Through the power of music, they break through the barriers caused by life-limiting illness, disability and social isolation.

They do this through providing music therapy to people across the UK, whilst also training the music therapists of the future and funding research to measure and improve the impact of their work.

Music therapy is the act of making music collaboratively, and it can help people with all kinds of conditions: from autism to dementia, learning difficulties to brain injuries, life-limiting illnesses to mental health issues, grief and trauma. Nordoff and Robbins music therapists use the power of music to create space for people to express themselves and find connection in society.

Nordoff and Robbins has specialist centres in Croydon, Dunfermline, London, Manchester and Newcastle that provide one-to-one and group sessions for children and adults, alongside providing sessions in various settings including schools, hospitals, care homes and more. Its music therapy training is validated by Goldsmiths, University of London, and is approved by the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC).

From adults with dementia reconnecting with their family, to children with autism finding their voice, Nordoff and Robbins believe that everyone should have access to music therapy, because of the transformative impact it can have on people’s lives.
