LeAnn Rimes and Stevie Nicks team up for 'Borrowed' track

Stevie Nicks and LeAnn Rimes have recorded a ballad together which features on Rimes' 'Re-Imagined' EP released today (June 20).

Speaking to Chris Evans on his BBC Radio Two Breakfast Show this morning, Nicks said:

"It was such a serious dream come true. I really did just turn on the TV and out of nowhere she was singing that song live, and I just broke down and started to sob. I thought I'm going to sing this song with her some day."

'Borrowed' is about being the 'other woman' in a relationship with a man who's already taken. It's about waiting for a call from him to the point where you won't even leave the house in case he rings to come over.

Nicks said: "I've personally done that myself and probably have all of us, and when you hear it you go 'there you go'.

"I had my person in my own way that I wrote the same song about, so I related to it."

Nicks said she sensed the collaboration would happen, she said: "Sometimes when I paint a picture, like 'build a field and they will come', it just happens."

Rimes spoke highly of working with her Fleetwood Mac idol, saying: "She's an incredible human, a rockstar, a goddess. Just to be in a room with her. For me she was so down to earth, a cool human."

The original version of the track appeared on Rimes' 'Spitfire' album, which was released in 2013.

Other tracks on 'Re-Imagined' are 'How Do I Live', 'One Way Ticket', 'Blue' and 'Can't Fight The Moonlight'.
