Little Mix have revealed that they do not doll themselves up for gym sessions.

The British girl band, who have recorded this year’s Sport Relief charity single ‘Word Up!’ – discussed their hatred of wearing makeup when exercising.

When asked by We Love Pop magazine if the girls apply cosmetics ahead of going to the gym, Leigh-Anne Pinnock replied: “No way!”

Band mate Perrie Edwards explained: “When you wear make-up in the gym you're sweaty and then you get really bad skin. You're better off just taking it off - letting yourself sweat and then putting it on nicely rather than getting it on your pores.”

Little Mix’s Jesy Nelson did admit that the girls tend to be more glamorous when preparing for live appearances:

“'When we do dance rehearsals I have to have make-up on. I like to get into character, like Beyoncé and Sasha Fierce [Beyoné’s onstage alter ego], and I can't do it if I don't have make-up on or I'll feel rank. But if it's just the gym, then definitely not.”
