Little Mix singer Jesy Nelson has responded to a tweet posted by Katie Hopkins which seemingly poked fun at her weight.

The former Apprentice contestant has been making a name for herself with some outspoken opinions recently and she continued that trend after seeing Little Mix perform on the X Factor on Sunday (November 3).

The businesswoman said: "Packet Mix have still got a chubber in their ranks. Less Little Mix. More Pick n Mix."

This was seemingly a jibe at singer Jesy Nelson, who later responded in an interview with the Huffington Post.

She said: "I just think she [Hopkins] is a really sad person...I think it’s really sad that she has to try and find some kind of limelight by slating everyone else."

Nelson added: "She wouldn’t have a job if she wasn’t horrible about people and I find that really sad. Can’t she just get a normal job and be nice about people?"

Hopkins shot to fame recently for all the wrong reasons after giving her thoughts on baby names on ITV's This Morning, prompting the disgust of host Holly Willoughy.

Little Mix meanwhile are due to release their second album 'Salute' on Monday (November 11).
