Lorde on Hunger Games soundtrack: 'I've never done anything even close to this before'

Lorde has opened up on her new movie soundtrack.

The singer curated the album for the Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 1 film.

Speaking to XFM, the 18-year-old New Zealander admitted that choosing the tracklisting for the record was unlike any she has done before.

Lorde said: "In so many things that I do, I'm like: how can I make this my thing? Obviously there are so many fans who are so invested in the music in the movies so it was lot of pressure for me. I've never done anything even close to this before.

"The artists that I ended up choosing for this, all to me portray strength. The kind of person that you are when everything is taken away from you: mentally, emotionally, physically."

Artists who feature on the soundtrack include Grace Jones, CHVRCHES and Charli XCX.

The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 1 soundtrack will be released in the UK in November 17.
