Transmitter Live Streaming Show / Official Charts Partnership

Transmitter Goes Live with weekly show Live @ 5 launches 3rd February on YouTube Partnership with the Official Charts Company Announced

TRANSMITTER, the new destination channel for British music on YouTube, is excited to announce the first of its weekly, live-streaming, appointment-to-view formats this week.
From 5pm on February 3rd, every Monday Live @ 5 will bring fans their 30 minute weekly fix of what’s happening in music. It will be the place that fans can get a first look at the UK’s Official Streaming Chart, thanks to Transmitter’s new partnership with the Official Charts Company.

The Official Streaming Chart collects data from all of the major audio streaming services – so Live @ 5 viewers will find out first which tracks are the most popular across UK streaming services - and, of course, the first place to find out who’s Number 1 in the Official Streaming Chart each week. The full Top 100 of the Official Streaming Chart will also be available from OfficialCharts.com from 5pm.

Live @ 5 will be hosted by popular YouTuber James Hill, previously seen presenting the 5:19 show on BBC Switch. James will recap the latest online trends, while getting the online audience hyped and involved in the action.
"I'm so excited to be part of Live@5, I absolutely cannot wait to get started. It feels like there's nothing really like this show at the moment, so it's a great excuse to have fun and see what happens. Secretly, I'm hoping it's gonna be as out of control and chaotic as possible... Like Top of the Pops crossed with a slightly over capacity house party the organisers regret. I'm also excited to get the viewers involved - they're as much a part of it as me and that's what makes us really different"

"I grew up loving those live music shows from the late 90s like Top of The Pops and TFI Friday, so to get my own is a dream come true. I can't wait", said James.

Live @ 5 is a key part of TransBRITer, the recently announced partnership between Transmitter and The BRIT Awards. The 4 finalists from the TransBRITer Red Carpet search will be announced on Live @ 5 on February 3rd, where fans will vote on who will be the Vlogger to experience the once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to interview their favourite artists on music’s biggest night, the BRIT Awards.

Launched in November as a joint project between British record companies, The BPI and music media company LoveLive, TRANSMITTER aims to create a great new curated online destination for music fans wanting to hear more from their favourite artists and discover the hottest new talent. Artists as diverse as Tinie Tempah, Ella Eyre, Chloë Howl, John Newman, The 1975, Broken Bells, Sub Focus, Drenge, The Saturdays, James Arthur, Wretch 32, Miles Kane and The Wanted have already passed through the studios, with exclusive performances, albums playbacks and insights into their passion for new artists.
