One Direction's hairdresser reveals how she got her job with the lads

Lou Teasdale, celebrity hair stylist for boyband One Direction, has opened up about how she job her sought after job in a new interview with Superdrug.

The talented stylist and make-up artist explained that she went to college for fashion, but put her skills to use any time a fellow student needed assistance, which led to her getting hired by someone who worked on 'The X Factor':

"I went to the London College Of Fashion and when I was there I assisted anyone that would have me! I did loads of test shoots to get experience in the industry too, because I don’t think you really learn how things work until you actually go and do it."

"I then started to assist a hairdresser called Ben and he barber trained me. He worked on 'The X Factor' and a lot of music videos, and at this point I’d never done celebrity work before. Personality wise I liked it more and I felt my vision for hair and make-up worked better for music rather than fashion."

She added that her passion for styling hair and the opportunity to work on 'The X Factor' pushed her towards the One Direction lads and they just began working together: "From that I would usually stay with the 2 or 3 acts that would get signed and work on their music videos and their tv appearances. Every year I’d then go back to 'The X Factor' when the series started again, so that kept me busy right up until I started working with One Direction."

Last summer, Teasdale told Teen Vogue magazine that sometimes the heartthrobs need very little styling because they're great at dressing themselves in fashionable ways: "Sometimes they all arrive on set and I feel like I don't even need to do anything. They all have their own style and none of them are clueless when it comes to looking cool."
