A prominent bookmaker has stopped taking bets on One Direction breaking up after receiving a flurry of punts.

The boyband's future is regularly the subject of rumours and they intensified recently after singer Harry Styles set up his own company.

Whilst a rep confirmed that nothing should be read into the move, bookies Coral stopped taking bets after a large amount of money was placed on the 'Kiss You' lads breaking up.

They told the Daily Star: "A rush of shrewd bets on One Direction splitting up raised the alarm and forced us to close betting until further notice. There's no smoke without fire and these bets indicate that the rumours are true."

Before the bets were suspended, Coral was offering even money on One Direction splitting, with Harry Styles 2/1 favourite to be the first member to go solo.
