Irish heartthrob Niall Horan has laughed off rumours that circulated online last night (September 24) suggesting he got married while abroad.

According to an influx of messages on social networking site Twitter, the One Direction superstar had unknowingly signed a marriage licence after being handed the document by a crazed fan during a trip to Germany.

Following an onset of mass hysteria from the band's fans, Horan took to his personal Twitter page (September 25) to clarify that he is not somebody's husband despite what people had started believing:

"Hahhaha I was gettin mentions and dm's last night askin me if I was married! Hahahahah heard it all now! People actually believe this stuff."

He returned to the website soon after posting this message and replied to one of his followers, writing: "The thing is, people actually believe that."

In a new interview with Fabulous magazine, on which Horan also graces the cover, he is quoted as saying "I'd rather go to sleep than find a girl".
