One Direction star Liam Payne has been indulging in a family Christmas this year back home in Wolverhampton.

The singer has enjoyed an extremely busy 2012, with the band touring the world and releasing second album 'Take Me Home'.

Local newspaper the Express and Star has reported that his father Geoff Payne has called this year's festivities "pretty normal", despite his son becoming a worldwide star.

He added that Payne received a Toy Story movie boxset, Batman merchandise, a model aeroplane, clothes and chocolates as gifts.

The 19-year-old visited the Penn Tandoori on Christmas Day with family after arriving home the day before.

As previously reported, Payne was also snapped bowling with bandmate Harry Styles in Southport over Christmas.
