One Direction pledge Where We Are tour money to charity

One Direction will give a portion of their 2014 stadium tour sales to charity.

The British boyband are due to embark on their first ever headline stadium jaunt next year, with dates in South America, the UK and Ireland revealed so far.

The group will donate 50p from each UK and Ireland ticket sold to charity Stand Up To Cancer. Speaking about the initiative, Liam Payne said:

"We're so proud to be supporting Stand Up To Cancer while touring the UK and Ireland. Cancer affects nearly everyone at some point in their lives so we all need to do what we can to bring forward the day when all cancers are cured."

He continued: "Stand Up To Cancer is all about bringing people together as a collective force and we hope our fans will get involved too. We'd love for One Direction fans to tell us about their support by using the hashtag #1DStandUp."

Tickets for One Direction's UK and Ireland stadium tour will go on sale tomorrow (May 25) and demand is expected to be massive.
