A One Direction rep has confirmed that a song which recently found its way online is not a Harry Styles solo track.

As previously reported, a track which was written by the singer called 'Don't Let Me Go' recently caused a buzz on the internet after being leaked online.

However, rep for the 'Kiss You' group told E! that the song was in fact an old One Direction demo. They said:

"Please note this is not a Harry Styles solo song."

They added: “It was a demo they worked on over a year ago that was being considered for a One Direction song. Sometimes the boys write and record separately as they work on new material but please make it clear this is not a solo release."

They also confirmed that the singer's voice appears on the track.

Songwriter Sam McCarthy said on Twitter that he wrote the music for 'Don't Let Me Go' and that Styles penned the lyrics.
