One Direction have released a preview of their forthcoming new video.

The British-Irish pop group are unleashing the track 'Best Song Ever' as their next single, which will also feature in their upcoming 3D film This Is Us.

On Tuesday (July 16) the quintet revealed a few photos from the tune's accompanying shoot, with Niall Horan transformed into an old man via prosthetic makeup.

The new teaser clip focuses on the Irishman, who plays the role of a studio executive.

The video gives little away but it seemingly goes for a low-budget look, complete with dodgy voiceover.

The full 'Best Song Ever' video is due to be released on Monday (July 22).
