One Direction break 24-hour VEVO record with 'Best Song Ever' music video

UK based boyband One Direction have smashed VEVO's 24-hour record with the release of their brand new music video for 'Best Song Ever'.

Member Niall Horan called for their fans to break it last night with a post on his official Twitter page and VEVO representatives have now confirmed that the lads have blown the record out of the water with an initial count of 10.9 million views in just one day:

"First count is 10.9 MILLION which means...@OneDirection has BROKEN THE 24HR RECORD! HUGE! Final count coming later today! #BSEVEVORECORD RT!"

Canadian sensation Justin Bieber previously held the record after racking up 10.6 million views in 24 hours with 'Beauty and a Beat', which was a collaboration with Nicki Minaj, but he was overtaken by Miley Cyrus in June as her comeback single's music video peaked at an impressive 10.7 million hits in the same amount of time.
