One Direction's Zayn Malik and Little Mix beauty Perrie Edwards are now officially engaged and the 'Best Song Ever' heartthrob has now spoken to 'The Today Show' about the exciting news.

The engagement was confirmed earlier this week after Edwards was seen at the boyband's 'This Is Us' premiere wearing a huge diamond ring and Malik explained that they are both very happy:

"There’s not much to say… we are engaged, really happy."

When asked by U.S. hosts Matt Lauer and Savannah Guthrie if they have started making plans for the wedding yet, the singer added: "No plans yet!”

Meanwhile, Edwards's friend Katherine Spires recently took to her Twitter page and shared a series of photographs of herself posing with the blonde bombshell (pictured above left), in which she can be seen showing off the ring.
