The UK X Factor have confirmed that they will host a performance from One Direction "soon".

As previously reported, producer Mark Sidaway revealed recently on his personal Twitter account that the 'Live While We're Young' group will appear on this year's UK X Factor.

The show announced on their own Twitter account today (October 16) that the group will definitely be performing during the X Factor's live show stages. They said:

"An up & coming boyband known as @onedirection will soon be performing at @TheXFactor Live Shows. We predict big things for them... #XFactor."

One Direction meanwhile were also recently confirmed by Simon Cowell to appear on X Factor USA.

The British-Irish boyband were formed on the 2010 UK series and despite not winning the show, they have gone on to achieve massive global success.

They will unleash their third album 'Midnight Memories' on November 25.
