Robin Thicke claims 'Blurred Lines' is a "feminist movement within itself"Robin Thicke believes his song 'Blurred Lines' can actually be taken as a feminist movement. The hit song has come under fire for apparently objectifying women, with the video compounding it all by featuring topless women. Speaking on the Today show, the US star said that he has nothing but respect for women, stating that the song was just something "funny" designed to make people dance. He said: "When we made the song, we had nothing but the most respect for women and - my wife, I've been with the same woman since I was a teenager. Thicke then added that the song raises the idea that men and women are equals, which could be allied with the feminist movement. He said: "It's supposed to stir conversation, it's supposed to make us talk about what's important and what the relationship between men and women is, but if you listen to the lyrics it says 'That man is not your maker' - it's actually a feminist movement within itself."
