Timbaland & Nelly Furtado cleared In lawsuit

A two-year old copyright lawsuit culminated today in Producer Timbaland and singer Nelly Furtado both being cleared of any wrongdoing.

Finnish record label, Kernal Records, launched a legal battle against the stars, alleging the duo stole elements of one of their artist's songs to create the hit ‘Do It.’

According to HipHopWired.com, a Florida judge has now thrown out the claim from Kernal Records, freeing Timbaland and Furtado from the $20 million lawsuit.

Timbaland's representative, Karen Stetson, stated:  "We're very happy.  We thought from the beginning that this issue was an important one and followed the plain language of the federal Copyright Act."
