Timbaland: 'Chris Brown and Drake shouldn't have used Aaliyah's vocals'

Super producer Timbaland has admitted that he wasn't excited when Chris Brown and Drake released music which featured vocals from the late Aaliyah because the tracks 'don't work'.

Speaking to Revolt, he explained: "It ain't gonna work because Aaliyah music only works with her soulmate, which is me."

Despite criticising the urban hitmakers' efforts to incorporate the Aaliyah's talents into their work, Timbaland had nothing but praise for Drake as a musician and confessed he knew the rapper would enjoy a successful career: "When Drake did 'Started From The Bottom' it was a totally different sound and Drake told me, he said, 'I had to really battle with myself. I want to be the first to change'. That's when I knew he was going to be around for a long time."

R&B sensation Aaliyah was killed back in 2001 after the plane she boarded crashed and burst into flames.
