A complex infusion of Balkan beats and burlesque sensuality, this all girl outfit provide a musical feast to tingle even the most hardened taste buds” - Music News.com

It’s all systems go for Norwegian quartet Katzenjammer, who continue to capture hearts, minds and feet with their new party-ready single ‘I Will Dance (When I Walk Away)’, released March 12th on Propeller Recordings.

Written by Katzenjammer and produced by Mike Hartung (Maelstrom, Jaga Jazzist, A-Ha) in Oslo, this first single from the band’s forthcoming LP, ‘A Kiss Before You Go’, doesn’t hang about on street corners waiting for something to happen. It leaps towards the dancefloor with a spring in its step and is about to lure you in.

Galloping Honky Tonk piano is the lifeblood of this Vaudevillian hoedown, but acoustic guitar, double bass and accordion also help to put the rosy red flesh on the bones of a track which unashamedly celebrates the good times.

It’s the perfect aperitif to an album which sizzles away like a hotpot of cabaret flavours, comic strips and bubblegum pop, at one point even stretching out to cover Genesis’ ‘Land of Confusion’ on sousaphone. Now who can say they’ve done that? Out May 7th, also on Propeller Recordings, ‘A Kiss Before You Go’ is the band’s first full-length UK release and spans a wealth of genres with no less than 13 instruments!

The deal clincher though is their aptitude for insanely entertaining and riotous live shows – where they often sing a cappella and never miss a note. As the band themselves say; “We like the sweet and harsh. If you like anything in between that then you’ll like Katzenjammer…”

Katzenjammer play The Scala, London, March 22nd
