Adam Lambert on life in the spotlight: "I've had my share of partying"

'Never Close Our Eyes' sensation Adam Lambert has revealed that his wild days are over and he makes sure he's grounded now that his career has reached new heights.

The superstar recently fronted iconic rock outfit Queen for a series of European concerts and released his sophomore album 'Trespassing' to a phenomenal reception, but told the Huffington Post that he likes to keep out of the public eye where his private life is concerned:

"I’m in a great relationship right now, and we tend to stay in with friends. I’m very boring, I’m afraid - I’ve had my share of partying. My friends keep my feet firmly on the ground, and I value in them, above all things – honesty, directness and taste."

Lambert reinforced this statement with a tweet posted earlier today (July 27), in which he shared a photograph of himself posing for the camera with his mother and boyfriend, Sauli (pictured below).

Of his impressive run of dates with 'We Will Rock You' hitmakers Queen, Lambert added: "I wasn’t intimidated, just in awe."

He also spoke briefly about his stint on American Idol and how he utilised the opportunity, explaining that he learned how to "work the system":

"I got to sing every week, work the system, it’s a game. As somebody who watched the show, I was always yelling at the screen, disagreeing with the judges, and their opinions are valid, but it’s so subjective, and what you hear sonically is really different on TV."

“I took it in, but I kind of took it with a grain of salt, and ultimately I had to trust what I wanted to do. Had I auditioned earlier, I wouldn’t have got past the first hoop. It took me a long time to define my identity."
