It was rumoured a few months ago that Christina Aguilera and her music executive husband Jordon Bratman had ended their marriage of nearly five years and were living apart.

However, today the popstar has issued an official statement confirming the end of their romance and revealing that although the two have separated, they will stay in contact for the sake of their two-year-old son, Max.

"Although Jordan and I are separated, our commitment to our son Max remains as strong as ever," Aguilera said.

Aguilera and Bratman met in 2002, while Bratman was working for Aguilera's music management company. They were married in November 2005, and have one son together.
