Super Furry Animals singer Gruff Rhys has announced a new solo album and UK tour.

The ‘Juxtaposed’ singer’s new album is without a title yet, but the LP’s first single, ‘Shark Ridden Waters’, is available to download now at www.gruffrhys.com, while a 12in vinyl version will be on sale from November 8.

The album is due for release in February next year, but fans of the singer won’t have to wait that long to hear the new material as Rhys also announced a new UK and Ireland tour for next month.

Kicking off in Ireland, Gruff Rhys will play:

• Galway, Town Hall Theatre – 13 November
• Belfast, The Empire – 14 November
• Dublin, Sugar Club – 15 November
• Manchester, Whitworth Gallery – 22 November
• Glasgow, The Art School – 23 November
• London, Toynbee Studios – 26 November
