Perrie Edwards, who rose to fame as part of girl group Little Mix, is gearing up to release her debut solo album and hosted a exclusive listening part in London this week.

The Official Charts reported that there are some exciting things coming from Perrie on this record and they revealed that her lead single from the offering was co-written by Ed Sheeran - a track called "Forget About Us".

Describing the single, Official Charts wrote: "Think road trip with your besties, windows down, belting the chorus at the top of your voice. The Kelly Clarkson-meets-Katy Perry vibes are strong here. Instantly-catchy (we were already singing along by the second chorus), it's easy to see why this is considered the perfect introduction to Perrie."

She will release the song, and forthcoming album, under the mononym Perrie. No release date has been confirmed, but she teased on Instagram that it "is coming".
