From the sun-bleached streets of LA, Siggy is here to permeate our minds with the repercussions of our lascivious sin and share a glimmer of hope with their album, 25th century.

After remaining firmly banded in their proto-punk-esque Rock n Roll reverence since the release of their debut album, Harlow’s Girl, in 1999, Siggy is still in spectacular form throughout their LP. The 2022 album melds Iggy Pop-reminiscent vocals with ever-evolving guitar tones that will easily appease fans of The Mekons, Television, and The Damned.

Consisting of Galen Buckwalter (Vocals) Ryan Howes (Guitars, Backup Vocals), Paul Netherton, (Drums) and Deborah Buckwalter (Bass, Backup Vocals) Siggy takes you right to the source of the contemporary proto-punk hype through the standout single Synaesthesia, which conceptually paints in vibrant colour while lyrically unpacking the titular phenomenon.

Siggy said:

“25th Century, brings a message grounded firmly in hope, with the fury and the rank psychic pathology of the 21st-Century. We don't have endless spins around the sun to leave our mark; will it be for the betterment of our progeny or "to die with some useless toys."

Synesthesia is an anthem to everything we do not yet know, from feeling our dreams in the color green to painting throaty lullabies from palettes of notes. If we do not yet understand the edge cases of our sensory processing, how much learning do we have to look forward to till we grock the likes of the free energy principle and string theory?”

Amelia Vandergast, the Executive Editor at A&R Factory said:

Better than sex kaleidoscopic guitar licks? Check. Roguishly raucous vocals that wrap around intellectually derived lyrics which encompass psychological phenomena, double check.

There’s nothing like the real proto-punk deal to get your not-so-teenage kicks; we can’t think of a better outfit than Siggy to deliver those swaggy nostalgic boots in your eardrums.

About

Siggy - cool band name, right? A little Iggy, some Ziggy, imagine a pack of Reds rolled up in a tatted, cut-arm with a rainbow t-shirt sleeve. Taken to a new level when the realization hits that Siggy has been the side hustle of two real and two pseudo-shrinks for 25 years.

A lot of boomers and Gen Xers wonder what would have happened if the band they started back in the day had stayed together. Siggy is the story of what happens when four musicians start a band, do the professional thing, but continue to get together to play once a week–for 25 years.

Professional successes have come along the way; the singer, Galen Buckwalter, literally holds the Love Patent as the Inventor of the matching system for eHarmony.com and has published over 150 peer-reviewed articles. Ryan Howes, the guitarist, started the National Psychotherapy Day, writes for popular and psychological press outlets, and has an incredibly active practice while raising two boys. Paul Netherton, the drummer, runs the coolest thrift store in LA, and Deborah Buckwalter, bassist, is a top-dollar shrink.

But it is all about Friday night, always has been always will be. Our motto used to be "music, friends, and weed," but most of us skip the weed these days. But not the Siggy. We moved out of the studio during Covid, got out the acoustics and went Backyard Siggy for a couple of years. It's creation, it's fellowship, it's rewiring our brains through them both, and of course, it's rock and fucking roll.
