Annava Put a Fresh Spin on Garage House with His Track, I Know

After a prolific 2023 sonically exploring ‘parallel worlds’ with the rapper CALMEA and remixing hit singles orchestrated by Helio Rex, on January 8th, the Sacramento producer Annava released the first of many singles to drop in 2024, I Know.

Showing a softer and melodic side to Annava’s grounded edge, I Know is a trippy, trancey electronic soundscape, which charters paths far beyond the well-trodden to transport listeners through an intimate arrangement which oscillates with progressive momentum while keeping the instrumentals drenched with euphonic catharsis

“For this release, I was inspired by UK Garage, 90s jungle, DnB, and old house mixes and the influence of my music teacher who challenged me to add harmonic variation in my tracks.

“Mostly, my music has no inherent sentimentality or meaning; I Know became the exception when I chopped up some vocals I recorded for an unreleased track, and it became a reflection of the pain of leaving someone you are in love with.”

About

I am lucky; I've known exactly what I've wanted to do with my life since I was a kid. I heard deadmau5 for the first time when I was 11 and became obsessed with EDM. A year later, a friend told me about FL Studio, a music-making software. Since then, I've dedicated my life to learning as much as I can about music production. Now, I am 22, graduating college, and grinding on my music career to make a name for myself and a living.

Under the Annava project, my first release was the Impala EP, which was a mixed bag of electronica. I released various happy hardcore and electro albums, including Year of the Cat Boy, Part 1 and 2, and Stray Cat.

Since 2023, I have been bridging into a more accessible sound with my electro funk/J pop track Parallel World, my phonk track Chiquita pt. 2, and this garage track, I Know. Several tracks in a similar vein to I Know are produced, mixed, recorded, and ready to drop in the form of an LP in 2024.
