About Joey Trap:
Joey Trap is a 20-year-old rapper, producer, and director. Currently based in San Diego, Joey was born and raised in New York City, inspiring him to gravitate toward expressing himself and joining the creatively diverse culture he was immersed in. Joey, who began sharing his music online in late 2016, was first able to break through the underground the following year, with his animated, tongue-in-cheek SpongeBob Squarepants-inspired track "I Got Top in Bikini Bottom" elevating him to a wider audience and since going on to amass over well over 20 million streams across platforms. While his snarky, trap-tinged takes on nostalgic late 90s/early 2000s animation, television, and technology is a lane in which he confidently finds his footing, the true essence of his artistry lies in his effortless ability to tackle any topic, emotion, or style, and make it entirely his own, all while paying homage to the dualities of his New York upbringing and West Coast coming-of-age.

While establishing a hearty, organic following, Joey Trap's interests quickly expanded beyond solely exploring his vocal talents, going on to teach himself how to produce, as well as how to direct and edit music videos. With an impassioned dedication to his craft, Joey amassed an impressive catalog in a short span of time, releasing upwards of 200+ songs in the first two years of his career alone, including six full-length projects (2018's Akachi Trap and Trapped in TV; 2017's 19, Trap Jack 2, Free Trap, and Misadventures of Trap Jack) and a handful of mixtapes and loose singles. Now 19, Joey's ambitious vision pairs well with his focused work ethic, leading him to found the collective Kloud Gang, which he aims to use as a vessel to inspire others to discover and explore their own creative passions, whether in fashion, music, visual art, or otherwise.
