Avril Lavigne has confirmed plans to release new material.

The singer's last album came in the shape of 2011's 'Goodbye Lullaby', which hit No.9 in the UK charts.

Taking to Twitter today (January 18), the Canadian hinted at a fifth studio album by confirming the imminent release of new tunes. She said:

"New music ready very soon. Thanks for being so supportive and patient. I'm doing my best in every way. Thanks xo."

As previously reported, Lavigne's representative denied in September last year that the music star was pregnant.

The singer got engaged to Nickelback mainman Chad Kroeger in August 2012.

She previously said that she might make her wedding dress out of multiple pieces of fabric, revealing: "It might be something that I buy a few different dresses and rip them up and put them all together and dye them."
