Bat For Lashes and The Flaming Lips will join an all-star line-up which includes Jay Z, Girls Aloud and White Lies.

Coldplay's tour kicks off on August 16 in Herning, Denmark and concludes 34 days later at Wembley Stadium in London.

The band plan to visit 15 cities along the way including Manchester, Dublin, Glasgow and London.

A band spokesperson said: "We're very pleased to announce the stellar roster of opening acts who'll be joining Coldplay for their European stadium dates this summer.

"As well as the previously-announced Jay-Z, Girls Aloud and White Lies, the band will also be supported by Flaming Lips, Bat For Lashes, Datarock, Killians, Howling Bells, Ministri, The Sunday Drivers, Moi Caprice, Miss Montreal and Pegasus."
