Debbie Harry reveals the secret to her career's longevity

Iconic frontwoman Debbie Harry has opened up about her career's longevity, attributing her success to "forward thinking".

The Blondie superstar revealed to Billboard.com that she has enjoyed such a long and prosperous run in the music industry because "I don't like walking down memory lane that much".

"There have been studies that say the more you're acting like who you are, the more forward-thinking you are, thinking and learning, and being creative, the better off you are. And fortunately, I'm in that good position."

She also admitted that at times she wishes she could be less of a cult figure and more "a great entertainer and performer like Beyoncé" and can't help but feel envious of how many hits the 'Single Ladies' singer has achieved:

"I always felt I was more comfortable being a cult [figure], but the temptation to be such a great entertainer and performer like Beyonce [is] so fantastic. I would adore doing some of that stuff. Her track record with songs is phenomenal; I wish we had as many hits."
