Elton John producing Broadway play

Elton John and partner David Furnish have apparently signed to produce a Broadway play called "Next Fall".

The production centres on two gay men and their complicated five-year romantic relationship marked by happiness, strains and religious differences, reports The New York Times. Next Fall reportedly drew critical acclaim during its off-Broadway run last summer. The play, which begins previews on February 16 and opens March 11, is moving to Broadway without a star attached.

John and Furnish are lending their names to the show's publicity and audience material in hopes of drumming up anticipation for the production.
