Example: 'I never knew how to sing or rap and I just learned on the job'

'Changed The Way You Kiss Me' hitmaker Example has revealed that he never really knew how to sing or rap and instead just learned as he made his way in the music world, picking up new skills with every project he worked on.

During an interview with The Sun magazine, the star confessed that he 'learned on the job' and threw himself into every opportunity that presented itself because he wanted to try as many things as possible on his way to the top:

"I've learned on the job. I've worked extremely hard and haven't given up, it hasn't been a jolly. I've been happy in the studio and in terms of music. I've adapted to things as they have been thrown at me because I never really knew how to work in the studio or write a song."

"I never even knew how to sing or rap. The whole thing has been a learning curve."

Back in March, Example teased that he would love to get into the studio with singer Olly Murs and boyband One Direction for collaborative projects at some point: "I'm up for working with Olly Murs. I've spoken to him about writing for him. One Direction, I had a good chat with Liam and Harry at the BRITs. I'd love to do something with them.”
