Jason Derulo says real-life affair inspired Little Mix collaboration

Heartthrob Jason Derulo has opened up about collaborating with Little Mix on their song 'Secret Love Song', which features on their upcoming new album 'Get Weird'.

The star told Digital Spy that he used the duet as an opportunity to get something rather personal off his chest:

"I saw a cover that they did of 'Want to Want Me' and thought it was awesome. I'm in America so I wasn't super familiar with them, but once I heard the cover, I went and did some research and I liked the stuff that they've done. They then sent me this song ('Secret Love Song'), which I thought was awesome so I came in and put my own twist on it."

Derulo went onto add that his part of the song was inspired by a real-life experience he had of hooking up with a girl who's in a committed relationship: "I told a true f**king story about this girl that I am really into but she has a boyfriend but we still do our thing."
