Jessie J turned down X Factor role because show 'promotes bullying'

Jessie J has turned down the chance to work on the X Factor twice.

The singer was a coach on the UK Voice for two series between 2012 and 2013.

Speaking to The Sun, the Brit revealed that she has rejected a judging role on the X Factor more than once because she feels there is too much emphasis on mocking its contestants.

She said: "[Simon Cowell] has offered me X Factor twice. I think the show’s been a major success and loads of amazing acts have come out of it but I can’t handle the whole taking the p*** out of people.

“I can’t sit and watch them putting people through for TV amusement and I said that to Simon’s face when I sat with him. I said, ‘I appreciate you as a businessman but I’m not a bully - and it’s bullying'."

Jessie J meanwhile is due to release her new album 'Sweet Talker' on Monday (October 13).
