Justin Bieber said he wants to top charts to celebrate his 22nd birthday.

However, it seems Rihanna's latest single 'Work' is putting paid to that idea.

The Canadian turned 22 today (March 1) and he tweeted recently that he would like to spend his birthday at No.1.

Billboard has revealed that the singer is No.2 on the latest Hot 100 chart behind Rihanna.

She is also trumping Bieber on the iTunes chart, with the 22-year-old placed at No.7 with 'Love Yourself'.

The track features on the singer's 2015 album 'Purpose'.
