Justin Timberlake makes chart history with 'Suit & Tie'

Singer and Hollywood actor Justin Timberlake has made history with the release of his comeback single, 'Suit & Tie'.

Nielsen BDS has confirmed that the track dominated Billboard's Pop Songs chart at No.14 by securing the highest first-week plays total in the chart's 20-year history and explained that it also marks the highest bow for a song by a male artist to date.

Billboard reports that from the week beginning on January 14 and ending January 20, the song logged 6,045 plays, which has pushed it past the record set by Lady Gaga with 'Born This Way' (4,602 plays during its debut week).

Sharon Dastur, program director of Pop Songs panelist WHTZ New York, explained that the track's different sound is definitely helping it to stand out amongst competitors: "Over the years, we've come to expect the unexpected with Justin's music, which I think is fantastic. 'Suit & Tie' doesn't sound like anything else out in pop music right now and we can certainly use those kinds of songs. We welcome Justin back with open arms."

Over the weekend, Timberlake excited fans by sharing some new studio photographs (shown below).
