Justin Timberlake has admitted that his stage show is an all just an act.

Music performers regularly put on live shows that are different to their normal personalities and it seems the 'Mirrors' man is no different.

Speaking to T, Timberlake said that he and collaborator Jay Z are merely channelling a "character" when they hit the stage. He said:

"I try to talk to people about how much acting goes into music, how much of a character goes into what you put on stage."

The '20/20 Experience' man added: "You ever sit down with Jay? He's not the guy he is on stage. I'm not the guy I am on stage. I am a performer. It's an elevated idea."

Timberlake meanwhile is due to perform at the iTunes Festival in London on September 29.
