Katy Perry's 'Last Friday Night (T.G.I.F.)' named VH1's Song of the SummerSuperstar Katy Perry is celebrating after her track 'Last Friday Night (T.G.I.F.)' is named VH1's Song of the Summer 2011. The pop songstress was awarded the title this week and beat the likes of Adele, Bruno Mars and Nicki Minaj to the punch. VH1 revealed that in order to accurately discover the most popular track of the past few months was to "put together a democratic formula that compared how a group of over 70 songs performed across five of the primary channels that people frequently use to listen to their favorite jams". The music network used the iTunes charts, scrobbles on Last.fm, Billboard's Hot 100, YouTube's music charts and its own Top 20 Video Countdown to determine the winner and the top ten are as follows:
