Katy Perry has expressed her delight at Adele's recent pregnancy announcement.

As previously reported, the '21' singer confirmed last week that she was expecting her first child.

Speaking to Capital FM, 'Part of Me' star Perry expressed her joy at the singer's good news. She said:

"Yeah, I love the fact that she's going to have a baby. That's so cute of her – she's such a good woman. She was really nice in my movie saying nice things about me – I've always loved her."

Perry meanwhile took time to recall a moment early on in her career when she met Adele. She said:

"She came and saw one of my shows really early on when I played this small venue, not Water Rats, it was after the Water Rats, I played this little venue maybe twice the size and she came backstage and I was eating a burrito. She was like 'A burrito – where'd you get that burrito in England, where did you get Mexican food', and she took it."
