Katy Perry says she won't be writing an Adele inspired heartbreak album

Katy Perry has insisted that her next album won't be full of heartbreak songs.

Vocal superstar Adele is well known for penning tracks about failed relationships and broken hearts, but Perry told The Sun that she isn't looking to go down that route.

The 'Part of Me' singer divorced from former husband Russell Brand earlier this year, and whilst she has previously said her next album will be "darker" than her previous efforts, Perry isn't looking to write a whole album about her relationship experiences. She said:

"I'd never devote a whole record to heartbreak. I'm happy, I'm in a good place, I'm looking forward to my future."
