Katy Perry: "Real men cry when watching my film"

Katy Perry has laid down the gauntlet to the male race by proclaiming that real men should "well up" when watching her new film.

The pop songstress released her first ever flick 'Part of Me' yesterday (July 5), which gives fans a behind the scenes look at her life.

Perry told Capital FM that she reckons even the most hardened men will find some parts of the film a bit emotional. She said:

"Well, I think that real men well up when watching the Katy Perry film."

Perry used a moment in the film where the singer is seen breaking down prior to taking the stage at a gig in Brazil as an example. She said:

"That was a very emotional part in Sao Paulo where I had to basically throw myself on stage and separate my personal life from my professional because I didn't want to make it the audience's problem. They had been waiting forever and when ever I think about the fact that maybe I could cancel a show I go 'well those people have been waiting and then all their babysitters have been waiting."
